Scrape Google Maps for local business research

A Google Maps scraper collects public business listings for a category and area: name, address, phone, website, rating and coordinates when the source returns them. To scrape Google Maps, you set a record limit, see the maximum task budget, then export the retained list.

What is a Google Maps scraper?

A Google Maps scraper collects public business listings for a category and an area: the name, address, phone, website, rating and coordinates when the source returns them. You set a record limit, see the maximum task budget, and export the retained result. A missing field stays empty.

You can scrape Google Maps with the same search in the workspace, from the browser extension or through the API. Reviews are a separate task for one business ID. CSV, Excel and JSON come from results you already retained.

Fields in each business record

Fields vary by place. A field appears only when the data source returns it for that business, and an empty field is not proof that the information does not exist.

How to scrape Google Maps in three steps

  1. Search by keyword and location

Enter a business type and a place, such as “Dentists in Austin, TX”. Set a record limit and optional rating or website filters.

  2. Check the estimate, then run

See the maximum units before anything runs. A task never uses more than the budget you approve.

  3. Review, save and export

Inspect each record’s source and fetch time, save businesses to a list, and export CSV, XLSX, JSON or JSONL.

Keywords & locations

Enter several keywords and several locations in Bulk research. Every keyword and location pair runs as a bounded search under one total budget.

Area search

Limit a search to a radius or a bounding box, or plan a GeoJSON polygon in Bulk research. Records outside the area are excluded and counted.

Filters

Keep places with a minimum rating, or only places with or without a website. Filters apply after retrieval.

Monitors

Repeat a bounded search on a schedule and compare each run with the previous snapshot.

Documentation
How do I judge a Google Maps scraper?

When you scrape Google Maps, judge a tool by the estimate you see before a task runs, the source and fetch time on each record, and whether a missing field stays empty. This extension is not approved in a browser store, and checkout is not enabled.

Is it legal to scrape Google Maps?

We cannot give legal advice. Whether collecting and using business data is lawful depends on where you are, what you collect, why you use it and the terms that apply. Public availability alone does not establish permission to store, resell or contact people. Read our data policy

How many results can one search return?

You set the record limit for each search, up to 500 and within your workspace cap. The data source may return fewer places for a query or area. To cover more ground when you scrape Google Maps, split the area or combine keywords and locations in Bulk research.

Are emails and phone numbers guaranteed?

No. Coverage depends on the source and business. Optional enrichment may return public contact details, but missing or stale data should be checked before use.
