Paste a Google Maps link
Open the business on Google Maps and copy the full link from your browser’s address bar.
What your link contains
Copy an ID, open the business or make a review link.
Two IDs, read from your link.
The Place ID and CID appear here. Nothing you paste leaves this browser.
A Place ID is not in every link. When you’re signed in, results in Explore businesses include each business ID, and a search uses units.
Explore businessesHow to find a Google Place ID
A Google Place ID identifies one place in Google's mapping services. It is a text value, often starting with ChIJ, and it is not the business name. Paste a full Maps link here. If that link contains a Place ID or a CID, this finder shows it.
- Open Google Maps in a browser and select the business.
- Copy the full link from the address bar. The Share button gives a short link instead.
- Paste the link here and select Find IDs.
- Copy the Place ID or CID, or make a review link from the Place ID.
Place ID or CID?
A CID is a number that opens the business on Google Maps at maps.google.com/?cid=. Many Maps links carry it inside a feature ID made of two hexadecimal values (0x…:0x…). The CID is the second value written as a decimal number.
Know which business a link points to.
Where does my link go?
Nowhere. The finder reads the link in this browser tab. It is not sent to MapsScraper.dev, opened or saved in browser storage.
Why is there no Google Place ID in my link?
Many Google Maps links carry only a CID, and links to a search or a map area carry neither. When a link has no Google Place ID, the CID still opens the same business on Google Maps.
Can I find a business by its name?
Not here. Finding a business by name needs a request to a mapping service, and this tool makes no requests. Paste the business’s own link instead.
